Abdulrahman Dambazau, the minister of
interior in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari, is in the centre
of attention over “making” an officer of the State Security Service
(SSS) a “shoe cleaner”.
A 30-second video clip shows the minister, dressed in white, sitting on a couch. The officer with a handkerchief does his best to ensure Dambazau’s shoes are shining.
The minister was not bothered by the actions of the officer. He was more focused on some actions unfolding in a distance.
Abdulrahman Dambazau is a retired general and a highly decorated
officer of the Nigerian army officer. He is also a close friend and ally
of President Muhammadu Buhari. The former general is also an authors. He has written many published
papers on human and drug trafficking, on democracy and the rule of law,
on the United Nations and media, among other topics.

Some top officers of the NSCDC, who were the neighbours of the
minister, also did not care that the SSS officer was stooping before
